REGIONAL ECONOMICS AND POLICY
Awareness on the opportunity of introducing regional economic policies, according to the existence of different models of local and regional development. Knowledge about existing tools for policies and strategies of local and regional development.
Prerequisites for the attendante of the course are the knowledges of the contents of the courses of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Economic Policy. Should be useful the knowledges of the contents of the course of Development Economics.
Regional development models. Typology of local models of development. Firms and territory: the local productive system. Innovation and territory: issues for economic policies. Policies and strategies of local and regional development. Strategic planning.
Mode of Delivery:
Lectures and case-studies discussion (44 hours), plus visits to areas and firms (8 hours).
A recommended reading list (with books and articles published in international journals) will be available at the beginning of the course. Moreover some additional teaching materials will be available in the e-learning site.
